A memorandum of understanding was signed between the School of Social Sciences, Assam Kaziranga University and Durga India on 1st November, at 3.30 PM on the university campus. 

The MoU was signed between Dr Diganta Munshi, Registrar, Assam Kaziranga University and Ms Margaret Johnson, Durga India. Durga India is a non-profit organization based in Bangalore that works on various issues related to women and their problems. Their main goal is to make society aware of the issues and various forms of abuse that women experience daily and effectively address them.

The Deans of all six Assam Kaziranga University schools, Faculty and staff members of the School of Social Sciences, and Antara Buzarbaruah from Durga India attended the event. 

The primary objectives of this MoU are - 

• To Have future collaborative programs on gender sensitization, women's safety.
• To Establish a Voice Lab on the university campus 
• To make students aware of the various defensive mechanism to ensure their safety in the public and private domain.
