The Competition Commission of India organized an Advocacy program on Competition Act, 2002 at Assam Kaziranga University on 3rd April, 2023 from 2pm to 4pm at the SOB Seminar Hall. The program was meant for both students and faculty of the entire university, and was conducted in a hybrid mode.
The two resource persons of the program were - Shri Umesh Kumar, Rtd IPS and State Resource Person for Assam under the Competition Commission of India, Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India, and Mr Tanuj Goswami who is an Ex. additional secretary, Government of Assam.
The program started with an introduction of the resource persons by Dr Saurabhi Sarmah, Associate Professor, School of Social Sciences, The Assam Kaziranga University. This was followed by the felicitation of Mr Tanuj Goswami by Dr Rakesh Rai, Dean School of Social Sciences in the presence of Dr Manvinder Singh Pahwa, Dean School of Business; Dr Ankur Saxena, Dean School of Computing Sciences, and the faculty members and students of the university.
This was followed by the presentation of Mr Tanuj Goswami where he had enlightened the audience about the Competition Commission of India and its role in eliminating adverse competition, promoting healthy competition and protecting the interest of the consumers. This was followed by the very informative and insightful speech by Shri Umesh Kumar on the Competition Commission of India.
A total of 80 plus students were present in the seminar hall along with faculty members from different departments of the university. The program came to a successful end with a vote of thanks offered by Dr Rakesh Rai.
