A meeting was held amongst various government and private stakeholders under the banner of “North-East Climate Consortium 2023”. The Consortium tried to address climate adaptation and resilience for sustainable and inclusive development of the north-east. This was emphasized in the recently concluded national event on North East Sustainable and Inclusive Development (NESID-22) conference at The Assam Kaziranga University. It was emphasized during the event that an integration of monitoring, analysis and technology as well as outreach is required for effective implementation. To take these recommendations further, the meeting was held at Hotel Gateway Grandeur, jointly organized by The Assam Kaziranga University and IFSA, Bangalore. The meeting brought together a few leading institutions and experts to explore the possibility and the modalities of a NE Climate Consortium (NECC) as a synergetic platform brought and integrated experts from different institutions including: Dr. PK Mishra (VC, Assam Kaziranga University), Dr. P Goswami (Chairman, IFSA, Bangalore), Dr. EVSP Rao (Former Head, Central Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants, Research Centre, Bangalore), Dr. VS Prakash (Director, Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre), Dr. Utpal Bora (Professor, Biomedical Engineering, IIT Guwahati), Dr. Rahul Mahanta (Cotton University), Dr. Lakshi Saikia (Former Scientist, NEIST), Dr. Jaideep Baruah (Head, Environment Division and S&T division, ASTEC), Prof. BN Goswami (Cotton University), Dr. Rizwan Uz Zaman (Technical Consultant, Assam Climate Change Management Society, Govt. of Assam) and Dr. Jayanta Kr. Sharma (Dean, SBS, Kaziranga University).
