The NSS Cell, Kaziranga University has taken initiatives on the “Swachhata Hi Seva” theme under the Mission Life. Sanitation drives in the University and nearby villages have been initiated by the NSS Cell, Kaziranga University as well as by the School of Social Sciences of the University.

The NSS Cell took the initiative of the cleanliness drive on campus on 1^st October 2023 and worked for two hours with a team of 40 Volunteers and created 80 working hours to clean the campus surroundings. The NSS Cell also took the campaign for a plastic-free campus and created awareness among the University community. In days to come the NSS Cell aims to make the campus plastic-free and help in the best practice of waste management on campus.

It is needless to mention that earlier the School of Social Sciences created awareness of cleanliness at the Bank of River Brahmaputra (26.02.2023) and also in Adopted Villages of the NSS. Thus, the University has an impact on creating awareness of Swachhata, its practice as well as benefits. It is the need of the day towards addressing environmental pollution and Climate Change.
