A session was organized by the School of Social Sciences for the new batches of MSW, BSW and BA Sociology students on 29-08-23 with the Founder, Ms. Bindi Dharia and the Learning & Development Specialist, Ms. Pallavi Kaushal of VAll. Vall is a platform which allows youth to volunteer their time with Social Impact Organizations and help them enhance their presence through impactful storytelling. Their model is based on collaborative learning, volunteering, and creating skilled youth.
The resource persons began the session with a fun introduction and an ice breaker game. This helped to create a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, allowing the students to feel comfortable and open to the learnings that were to follow. They then proceeded to explain the importance of having a plan after graduation for the students. They provided insights into the concept of internship and volunteering and its role in helping the students to map their skills with future plans. The session was informative and engaging, with visual aids and real-life examples that helped the students understand the practical applications of those activities. Throughout the session, the students were actively engaged and participated in all the activities. They asked thoughtful questions, shared their own experiences, and expressed their readiness to contribute to the development sector. The resource persons emphasized that everyone can reap the benefits of this opportunity as the process of working will be both online or offline. The session served as a call to action for the students, inspiring them to take the first step towards making a positive impact in their own communities.
