World Optometry Week is an annual event celebrated globally to raise awareness about the crucial role of optometry in eye health and vision care. It provides an opportunity to highlight the significance of optometric professionals and their contributions towards promoting eye health, preventing visual impairment, and enhancing the quality of life for individuals worldwide. The Theme for the World Optometry Week  “ Advancing Optometry’s Commitment to Global Eye Care”

The Optometry Department, The Assam Kaziranga University has celebrated Optometry Week from 18^th -22^nd March, 2024. During the whole week there were various events organised which includes sports activities, Painting Competition, Video Graphy Competition, Quiz Competition, Debate Competition, Arm Wresting, and Character Display. On the final day of the Optometry Week a Cultural Program was organised and along with distribution of awards for the various competitions held and announcing the Best Semester Award and the Sportsmanship Award. The Best Semester Award was achieved by B. Optometry 6^th Semester and Best Sportsmanship Award is being received by Gidar Gamkak (B.Optometry 2^nd Semester).
