KU School of Health Sciences celebrated World Cancer Day on 4th February, 2020.
The School of Health Sciences along with the Community Club of The Assam Kaziranga University celebrated the World Cancer Day at Jorhat Town on the 4th of February 2020. An awareness rally was organized on this occasion to raise the awareness of cancer and to encourage people to never give up hope in their fight against cancer.
The theme chosen for this awareness campaign was "I can, we can" which means that everyone has the capacity to address the cancer burden and we can work together to reduce cancer risk factors by creating awareness on the importance of early diagnosis, treatment and palliative care.
The rally started at 7:30 AM in the morning from Court field to Doss & Co. Jorhat and concluded at Court field at 8.30 AM. Placards and banners were used as sources and mediums to spread the messages about cancer. The members of the Community Club along with the students and faculty members of the School of Health Sciences participated in the rally. The number of participants was about 70 including the faculty members of SHS.
