School of engineering, Kaziranga University launched its first Drone named Pushpak on 31 October 2019. The Vice-chancellor Dr. P K Mishra and the Director Ms. Rainy Khetan along with the registrar Prof. Tarun Kumar of the university did the unveiling of Pushpak.

A team of nine students from the department of computer science and engineering (Kaushik Kamal Kalita, Himjyoti Bol, Dhiman Thakuriya, Abhishek Prasad, Udit Chauhan, Debarshi Raj Basumatary, Pritam Gogoi, Chandan Chetry, Suraj Jyoti Sonowal) under the leadership of Dr. Sajal Saha (Prof. – CSE) made it happen with first flight of drone. The very purpose of making Pushpak is to help the society with different applications of this technology such as Agriculture, Survey, Flood relief, Surveillance, security, etc.
