Since its inception, the Assam Kaziranga University has been dedicatedly exploring ways to leverage opportunities for the benefit of the students and youth of North East India. As one of the important outcomes of this commitment, a proposal for collaboratively offering Post Graduate Masters in Management (PGMM) program at Nagasaki Wesleyan University, Japan was recently implemented in Kaziranga University.
An MoU with Nagasaki Wesleyan University was signed in the Kaziranga University campus on 16th May 2019. A two member Japanese delegation consisting of Dr Yoshinobu Sato, President, Nagasaki Wesleyan University and Mr Yasuhiko Matsushima, General Manager, University Administration and a three member team from Silver Peak, Nagasaki, Japan and Bangalore, India visited Kaziranga University, and after due consultations, the MoU was signed by the Hon'ble President of NWU and the Hon'ble Vice Chancellor of Kaziranga University, Dr P.K Mishra, in the presence of Director Ms. Rainy Khetan, Registrar Prof. Tarun Kumar, Deans and Senior Faculty Members of Kaziranga University. This collaboration is the first of its kind for both the reputed Universities.
Japan offers immensely beneficial opportunities for eligible students for higher education, entrepreneurship and better employment. The Nagasaki Wesleyan University is a 138 year old reputed privately funded university located in Nagasaki, Japan. The university will provide N3 Level Japanese course and residential Post Graduate Masters in Management (PGMM) which has been tailor made for the students from Kaziranga University with a view to promote entrepreneurship and employment in core industrial sectors in Japan. Concurrently, the students will learn Japanese language and culture during their stay in the university. Students can also earn significantly while they learn by way of part time jobs.
Students who are desirous of undergoing the programme will be provided with Management Foundation Programme and basic level of Japanese language N5 & N4 competency at Kaziranga University which have been arranged in collaboration with M/s SilverPeak Global Pvt. Ltd, a company Headquartered in Japan, as a training partner. These programmes will meet the eligibility criteria for enrolling in NWU.
The MoU will also provide a structured framework under which several initiatives including, higher management education, Japanese language and culture programmes, student exchange programmes and other research and studies will be undertaken relevant to mutual areas of interest and benefit.
Students will benefit a great deal from this initiative which has been exclusively arranged in Kaziranga University in the NE region. Apart from receiving a management degree from the prestigious NWU, students will also get job offers from core industrial houses in Japan. There are also active programmes for encouraging entrepreneurship in Japan for the students after completing the management programme.
