The Literary Club of The Assam Kaziranga University organized a Cosplay Competition on 31st October 2025 as part of the Halloween Day celebration. The event began with an address by Dr. Saurabhi Sarmah, Director of Student Welfare (DSW), who inaugurated the celebration with her inspiring words on the importance of creativity, self-expression, and cultural participation among students. Following her speech, the event commenced with a soulful tribute dedicated to honour the legacy of Zubeen Garg (Zubeen Da), Assam’s most iconic and beloved musical personalities. Two students performed his timeless song “Mayabini” on stage, and in a deeply moving moment, everyone in the auditorium stood up and joined in singing together, creating an atmosphere filled with emotion and unity. This heartfelt tribute beautifully set the tone for the celebration, blending cultural pride with artistic spirit.
The Cosplay Competition that followed aimed to foster creativity, imagination, and artistic expression among students, allowing them to portray various fictional and mythical characters with originality and confidence. The event was also graced by the presence of Mr. Pulak Bora, Deputy Governor of Clubs, whose words of appreciation further motivated the participants. The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across different schools of the university, making the event vibrant and engaging. Participants showcased exceptional creativity, confidence, and authenticity, reflecting the artistic diversity and cultural vibrancy of the university community.
The judges of the event were Mr. Bedanta Bikash Bora, Assistant Professor, School of Business, and Dr. Just Merry A. B.
